The story of another vicar of Certaldo: the religious one
Departure: Convent
Without museums: An external tour of the village that will lead us to know another historical aspect of this place: the religious one. From the treasures inside the church of Santi Jacopo e Filippo (which we will be able to enter without a ticket) born in other times and perhaps for other places, to the great devotion for Beata Giulia; from the "quarrels" between the powerful Augustinians and the Gianfigliazzi family, to the unfortunate history of the church of Saints Tommaso e Prospero, up to the small objects of devotion scattered here and there in the village.
Duration: 1 hour and a half
Cost: 135 € per group (max 30 people)
With Museums: Discovering another Vicariate led by Certaldo: the ecclesiastical one. A history made up of parish churches and medieval churches still immersed among vineyards and olive groves in the Tuscan countryside around Certaldo, and that we will visit through the objects collected in the former Augustinian Convent (now, in fact, Museum of Sacred Art) and within the walls of the two main churches of the village: the church of Saints Jacopo and Filippo, and the former church of Saints Tommaso and Prospero (the cumulative ticket also includes the Palace and the House of Boccaccio).
